Most Hollywood celebrities and nearly half of all best-selling published authors use a ghostwriter. Yes,
you can write a book without putting your fingers on a keyboard.
Anyone with an idea can become a "paid
author" in just 90 days. I charge per project. Tell me about your idea and lets negotiate a price and timeframe.
I also write news releases, articles, web site copy, etc.
Why Hire a Ghostwriter?
Ghostwriters are hired for numerous reasons. In many cases, celebrities or public figures do not have the time, discipline,
or writing skills to write and research a several-hundred page autobiography or "how-to" book. Even if a celebrity
or public figure has the writing skills to pen a short article, they may not know how to structure and edit a several-hundred
page book so that it is captivating and well-paced. In other cases, publishers use ghostwriters to increase the number of
books that can be published each year under the name of well-known, highly marketable authors.
Types: In some cases, a ghostwriter may
be called in just to clean up, edit, and polish a rough draft of an autobiography or a "how-to" book. In other cases,
the ghostwriter will write an entire book or article based on information, stories, notes, and an outline, interview sessions
with the celebrity or public figure. The credited author also indicates to the ghostwriter what type of style, tone, or "voice"
they want in the book.Blog Companies or organizations
hoping to generate interest in their blog site sometimes hire ghostwriters to post comments to their blog, while posing as
different people and using pseudonyms. Blogs are rated according to how many web 'hits' they get from users viewing the page,
and this rating is used by advertisers considering paying for ad space on a blog website.Note: With more posts and more comments and discussion, it is more likely that
a blog will have more "key words" which will bring up the blog during a search engine's search. Once a blog gets
more traffic, eventually the number of 'real' posts may increase, and the blog ghostwriters may no longer be needed.

- Negotiated per project pricing
is available.
- If you are a student, ask about my academic assistance program.
special rates apply.
I work on a per-project pricing
structure that depends on the amount of research required, the project's length and the time frame allotted.
Here examples
of non-book writing projects:
Website Copy
- One 250-word, search engine optimized article costs $150. Purchasing a package of 10 or more articles brings the price down
to $125 / article. Purchasing a package of 25 or more articles reduces the price to $100 / article. Technical Writing - Technical copy is priced at $300 per
500 words. Manuals, brochures, and all other corporate materials receive a lower rate if 10 or more pages are required.
Articles - Trade journal articles, magazine
articles, and other copy that requires specific research is priced at $500 per 500 words. Developmental Editing by a member of my staff, (LeElla Ratcliff) is included in the price. A developmental edit is also available as a separate service on a per-project negotiated rate.
Developmental editing mostly examines the theme, writing style, and pace of the book. Does the book clearly convey the author's
message? Has the author made his point/what is the author trying to say? How appropriate is the author's writing style? Does
it need lightening or a more businesslike style? Developmental editing also looks at the book's pace: how much "time"
does an author need to spend on a given topic?
Editorial review: Client may request one free round of changes on the spelling, grammar,
word choice, and punctuation of the completed work. Extra changes are subject to basic editorial costs. New pages are subject
to basic ghostwriting costs. Writing samples are available upon request. Please describe your specific need; i.e., news release, article, web site
copy or non-fiction book.
