Tom Roberts, M.A.

Tom Roberts is a public speaking coach, speaker, author and actor. He earned an M.A. in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Kansas and did post-graduate studies in Theatre Arts at the University of Missouri. His master's thesis, a biography of Paul W. White who founded CBS News, was reviewed in Broadcasting Magazine and quoted in Now the News and other books on broadcasting history.

He has been speaking in public since he was 15 when he emceed variety shows in high school and as a minister before deciding on a career as a broadcast journalist. His work was featured on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, the Voice of America (East European broadcast), ABC Radio, the Mutual Broadcasting Network and CNN.

Tom Roberts studied at the Actors Studio in Los Angeles and has been featured in motion pictures, television commercials and recordings.He portrayed Oliver Winchester in The Sara Winchester Story for the Nippon Television Network, Tokyo.  He taught public speaking, radio and television performance for eight years at John Brown University, Siloam Springs, AR.

Mental illness devastated Tom's family of origin and his marriage. A graduate of the complete Bipolar Advantage series of workshops, he has first hand experience of what it is like to make profound changes and a gift for helping others who share the struggle for a better life. The story of Tom's experience  inspires both patients and those who love and support them.
